We had a visit from the Reading Fairy! At the end of reading workshop, we found a letter from the Reading Fairy complimenting us on reading so quietly. She even left us golden star stickers to wear to lunch!
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support and at Einstein, it means that we strive to be SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL in all areas of our building. In the hallway, that means, when waking in a line, we stay in our own space, we keep our arms still and we are super quiet. In kindergarten, we even "put a bubble" in our mouths while walking in the hall to help us to remember that the hallway is not a place for visiting. When adults in the building notice our line walking the PBIS way and give us a compliment, we earn a star for our door. Ten stars on the door equals a special treat for the whole class! Well... they did it!! They have earned 10 stars by walking in a line the PBIS way! Go Kindergarten!! Our first unit in Math is all about exploring attributes and shapes! Below are pictures of the children working at their tables during the "Math Tub" portion of Math Workshop. I wish you could hear all of the "Math Talk" that is happening while they are busy constructing shapes, sorting manipultives, and making patterns during this time! It has quickly become one of their favorite parts of our day... Our Literacy Stations are up and running! Each day partners work at a station for 15-20 minutes. At the end of the day, partner names are rotated so each day they are working at a new station!
