We have been on kindness missions for our principal, teachers, and other students at Einstein! We can't forget our families!! Today our mission is to make a keepsake ornament for our families! The kids are super excited about this one! As we get through this exciting week... I keep reminding myself of this! For day 13, we decorated a gift bag for our family gift... no pics... don't want to ruin their surprise 😉. Hope you enjoy them! On Friday, December 19, our Kind Kids left us hot chocolate to enjoy as we reflected on all of the kind deeds we did since December 1. "They" reminded us to choose kindness whenever possible and left us wondering if they would be back by ending the note with "until we meet again"! Hmmmm... we'll have to wait and see 😉. Happy Holidays everybody! Wishing you joy, good health, and nothing but happiness in 2015! For day 12 our kindness mission was to smile at others. We learned that when you smile at someone, it's a natural response for that person to smile back! And... just the act of smiling can make you feel happier. So... say cheese 😀 and be happy! Today was about sharing! Our mission was to share our candy canes with the other Kindergarten classes. Helpers counedt out enough candy canes for each class and then delivered them with a note about how "kindness inspires kindness". We even had enough to share with our 1st grade friends too. Today our "kindness mission" was to make some bird feeders for our feathered friends (I'm sure the squirrels will enjoy them too!). I forgot to bring the camera with us outside... but, when we were finished making the treats, we took a walk outside and placed them all over the trees and bushes on the playground! PE-Nut is a nutrition and physical education program that is put on through the Kidney Foundation. A representative will be visiting our classroom monthly to teach the children how to make healthy choices. The program incorporates a planned curriculum, food sampling, structured physical activity, books, take home bags, daily health messages, and even school-wide events. More information can be found here: After a discussion about different kinds of healthy goods and healthy activities, Miss Kate invited them to try a "funny face" snack. She gave them a tortilla, beans , and various veggies. They made funny faces with the different foods and then rolled them up and gave it a try. Most of the Kindergarteners put in a brave face and took a bite... they were surprised at how yummy it was! Yesterday our guest reader read us three more great stories! She read a funny story called "Mooseltoe", a book about how snowmen celebrate Christmas... "Snowmen at Christmas" and "Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree"... a story about how a single Christmas tree becomes a source of cheer for the people and animals living near Mr. Willowby! Today we were asked to deliver a gift to Dr. Wright 😃. She loved it... she even did a little dance!! |
