Today we went to see a play... "The Life and Times of Junie B. Jones". Over the last couple of weeks, we have read ALOT about Junie B. Jones! It was amazing to see the books come to life and tons of fun for the kids! Truthfully, they enjoyed the bus ride with their friends as much as the play itself! Lol.
Every other Wednesday we have a special guest reader visit our room. She always brings the BEST stories! Today she read The Gingerbresd Girl, The Gingerbread Baby, and The Gingerbread Cowboy! Today we found Sprinkle & Sparkle sitting on top of our chart paper, holding a marker! They also brought along some of their favorite books to read and yummy sprinkles to share. Our mission today... Make a list of polite words and try to use them as often as possible. We have "visitors" in our room! They have come to our classroom for the month of December because they've heard about how much the children in room 166 enjoy being kind and doing good deeds. Meet "Sparkle & Sprinkle". They sent us a letter asking us if we would be interested in joining their team... and, of course, everyone was! They arrived December 1st and each day send us out on a "kindness mission". Our first "mission"... Then today... We made lots of grown-ups smile and laugh today! Can't wait to see what's next 😃. Reading with a partner is not only fun, it also extends our time spent with books. We've been learning different ways that partners work together. Sometimes partners read the same book, sometimes they take turns reading, sometimes they talk about books, but they ALWAYS help each other if one gets stuck 😊 Reading Workshop looks very different now that we have hit mid-November. This week we chose our own reading spots... what a treat! They LOVE being given the responsibility to choose a place, in our room, where they can do their best reading. They are in their own space with their own book boxes. Their book boxes contain 5-6 pattern books and a couple of our favorite story books. We are building stamina... right now, they are able to sustain about 10 minutes of super quiet time with their books! Yay readers!! 😊 We won! Remember the "get free breadsticks with the purchase of a pizza bags" that were sent home last month?? There was a pizza party offered to the class that redeemed the most bags. Our class won! So, Papa Romonos supplied our class with some delicious pizza and breadsticks yesterday afternoon! The kids really enjoyed the surprise! Thank you for your support and thank you to Papa Romonos! We've been working on learning our 3-D shapes! We've been singing about them, finding them in the evironment, collecting them in our 3-D Shape Museum, and constructing them. Today, we sorted them and then... we ATE them! What fun!! I keep hearing "Can you take a picture of ______ and put it on our blog?" That's exactly what I was hoping for when starting this blog - I'm so happy! So here you go... here are some random pictures, as requested 😊 Pattern necklaces Designs made with shapes Creations made with our new gear set (and friends)! The "Frog Game" |
